Frequently asked questions

Up to 6 months unopened in a cool, dry place. Once opened, Cronches stay fresh for 6 to 8 weeks in an airtight container at room temperature, or at least 6 months frozen. We low-and-slow dehydrate every batch to lock in crunch and eliminate moisture naturally without artificial preservatives.
We include a food-safe desiccant packet to absorb humidity; keeping that in your container extends freshness even further.
-
Yes—never give your dog beer. Hops and alcohol are toxic to dogs.
However, our treats are not made with beer. They are made with upcycled spent brewer's grain, which is gathered during the initial mash step long before hops, yeast, or alcohol are ever introduced. Spent grain contains zero alcohol, zero hops, and is packed with wholesome protein and fiber.
-
Spent brewing grains naturally contain gluten, so they may not be suitable for pups with severe gluten intolerances. Most of our grains are barley-based (which is generally tolerated by dogs with wheat-specific allergies), but some batches may contain wheat, oats, or corn.
For other allergies, we clearly label every ingredient on the back of each bag so if your pup has a sensitive stomach, shoot us a note and we’ll guide you to the right treats.
-
No, our treats are 100% plant-based by design. We bake in small batches using wholesome pantry ingredients (like single-ingredient peanut butter, pumpkin, and chia) alongside upcycled grains. Because spent grains naturally contain around 25% protein, dogs get a nutrient-dense crunch without requiring meat meals or animal fats.
The Treats & Ingredients
Recipes & Safety
-
Yes, handcrafted right here in Bend. Every single batch is mixed, rolled, cut, and dehydrated in small batches to maintain strict quality control and cronch consistency.
-
That’s the beauty of real craft beer malt. Different beer styles use different grains. An imperial stout mash yields rich, dark grains, while a pilsner mash yields light golden grains. Because our grains come fresh from varying local brew days, treat color naturally varies from batch to batch.
Color is also variable due to the natural and real flavorings like blueberries, beets, pumpkin, carob, and others.
We measure every bag strictly by weight, so your dog always gets the exact same amount of treats regardless of individual cookie shade.
-
Yes, 100%. We are a fully registered, licensed, and insured pet treat business based in Bend, Oregon. We adhere to commercial pet ingestible safety standards and source strictly from food-safe, local commercial partners.
-
Discontinue use immediately and consult your vet. Just like humans, individual dogs can develop specific intolerances to new foods or grains. While our ingredients are simple and dog-friendly, reach out to us with the batch info so we can help troubleshoot.
